Program Description

Embark on a transformative journey this summer through the Sonoma State University Cross-Cultural Experiential Learning in Mexico Program! This unique, three-week program immerses pre-service and in-service teachers in the vibrant cultural and educational landscape of San Miguel de Allende. Through hands-on, weeklong practicum placements in local, Mexican bilingual private schools, interactive academic workshops, and Spanish language classes (beginning to advanced), participants will deepen their understanding of culturally responsive teaching and enhance their skills in working with bilingual and English learner students. This experience not only strengthens your pedagogical practices but also empowers you to become a change agent for social justice in education.
