Description

Lying south of the United States and just north of Central America, Mexico is bordered by the Pacific Ocean, the Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf of Mexico. The Tropic of Cancer divides the country into two very different temperature zones, providing for the extreme diversity in flora and fauna. With over 700 species of reptiles native to only Mexico, the country is ranked first among others for these endogenous species. It is ranked second for its mammals as it is home to over 500 species. With over 26,000 species of vascular plants, Mexico is a country with a diversified (and photogenic) environment and landscape.

Mexico is the most populous Spanish-speaking country in the world. Its capital, the lively Mexico City, is one of the most populous cities. There is no official national religion, but Mexico is second in the world for its Catholic population. The country of Mexico is a Federal Constitutional Republic made up of 31 states.

Family traditions and entertainment are a huge force driving every-day life. Family reunions often include singing and dancing with music such as mariachi, salsa, merengue, and band. Its cities include movie theaters, shopping malls, cafés serving local and international cuisines, bars and discos. If its sports you want, Mexicans enjoy football, baseball, professional wrestling, and bullfighting. Mexico City hosts the largest bullring in the world seating over 50,000 fans. From the wildlife to the entertainment of popular culture, Mexico is rich with history and lively with entertainment.
